Long gemstone necklace

Today introducing another new member to the MaiTai Collection, a long gemstone necklace made of genuine semi-precious stones. It adds easy and elegant chic to simple and casual outfits, and dresses up effortlessly a day look for an evening.

The necklaces are hand strung and knotted, and consist of genuine facetted garnet and smooth amazonite beads, as well as smooth and carved jade (turquoise and vieux d'or) and agate (plum and hot pink) accent beads. The facetted surfaces catch and reflect beautifully the light, adding a discreet sparkle to the ethnic chic carved jade and playful tassles.

The tassle part (tassle plus hand carved jade with a flower motif) is detachable, so you can attach your own favorite charm, or combine the tassle with other necklaces.

  2. Hello Mai Tai,
Beautiful necklaces! Could you please tell me the name of the scarf in the close-up of the Vieux d'Or colorway? I love the combination of black and brown. Thank you!

    1. The name of the scarf is 'Monsieur et Madame', but it's from a few years ago.

  3. Oh my gosh, these necklaces are spectacular. I think this is your finest hour to date! I just love them. They'll add just the perfect out-of-the-ordinary, exotic flare to one's wardrobe. As much as I love my scarves and shawls, I have to admit that I sometimes get a bit tired of them, and these necklaces will be the perfect accent to "wake them up" for the holidays.

Trudye, I think this means another pillage of the scarf drawers tonight to decide on the perfect color, or I guess I should say colors. I know I want more than one.

And, did I read the price right, 149 euro? I had to look again to make sure, as something of this quality would sell in Saks or Neiman-Marcus here in the States for $1,500 at least.

    Oh, Merry Christmas to me!

You are truly wonderful, ma chere,
    Jerrine

    1. Jerrine, it is a good price, isn't it, even after translating euros to dollars. The plum really speaks to me - hoping it will arrive in time for holiday wear. What color are you going to order first?

      Warm aloha,
      Fifi

    2. Hi Fifi, dear. I see that you've recovered from your nasty cold in time to get right on this latest, particularly fabulous offering. Good for you!

Yes, I think the price is incredible for this quality even after the nasty exchange rate translation. And, the necklace is so unique with so much flare, and I love swinging tassels (that could be misconstrued; I am not a stripper!)

The plum would look gorgeous with your hair and coloring. Go for it, and I know that MT will get it out the door to you tomorrow. I'm torn between the gold and the turquoise. I know that the gold is a must, but the turquoise is so tempting, especially for summer.

Actually, I'd like one of each, but I must restrain myself and not be piggy about it.

      Best,
      Jerrine

    3. Dear Jerrine, you are so funny! You could certainly do an elegant "show" using the Hermes scarves and accessories! Funny, my sister is totally NOT into anything girly, and yet in her youth she was a show dancer in Las Vegas for a brief moment. Isn't it delicious, the mysteries that lie behind someone's outer facade?

I love the gold, but don't think it will flatter me. So please order it for yourself! And then send a photo in to the next collage. And order the turquoise too. Oh dear, I really should be encouraging your admirable restraint!

      Aloha,
      Fifi

    4. Well, good for her, and it is delicious, as you say. I'm sure she could tell some very interesting stories.

And, I have to admit - when I was young, I so wanted to be a Radio City Rockette. I kind of still do!

I took your advice and ordered the gold and the turquoise, and I'll do my best to get a modeling shot to MT.

      Hope you ordered your plum.

      Ciao,
      Jerrine

Your imagination has no end and I´m so happy for that! <3

Jerrine, yes, this will cause another forage thru the scarves and shawls to try to select the best color/colors! ITA regarding the pricing...amazing and I had to look twice to make sure my eyes did not deceive me!
Congrats, dear MT...you brought down the house with this launch! Definately worth a toast with the bubbly! Mwahs and warm hugs, T xx

    1. Trudye, I decided to forego pillaging tonight and order today for fear that they'll fast sell out. I ordered the gold in the shorter length and the turquoise in the longer version, and I plan to wear them together sometimes (but with just one tassel, lol.)

What colors are you leaning towards? And, remember - while toasting MT's talent, and our good fortune, be careful and keep your tassel out of the bubbly:-).

A warm hug to you, too. It was 15 here this morning. The cats can't believe it. Neither can I!

      Jerrine

    2. Jumping up and down with excitement...sister of The Salon...those are my two choices, too! I think I will do both of the shorter length, given my height, as I can vary it for doubling up by removing a tassel! I love natural jade and it's inherent organic beauty!
Hope you and kitties are warm enough! Head our direction this weekend if you would like to enjoy a balmy 80 degrees! Then we dip again next week! Fingers crossed for everyone to stay well with these wild temps!
      Big hug,
      T xx

    3. How nice, Trudye, and we didn't even confer with one another before ordering. I love the natural jade, too, especially when paired with the rich garnets. They play off one another wonderfully. I think the whole darn necklace is a little masterpiece.

If the kids would use their shelters, they'd be fine, but they're being a bit snarky with one another, and the cold weather and winds must be the culprit. But last night, LBD was toasty in her shelter with a purr pad and a warming disc, and brother Louie, settled on her warmed purr pad after chasing her off it. He seemed happy enough, though, believing that he finally got the best purr pad. (Louie is a love bug, but a bit dim. Sister LBD is the brains of the operation.)

Stay warm until the weekend. We're supposed to get to 68 here on Sunday, and it will feel like a heat wave. In the meantime, I'm camping out under my heated Sunbeam throw that I got a Costco. It's wonderful. I'm toasty warm . . . as long as I don't get up!

Big hugs back gemstone necklace twin,
      Jerrne

    4. Trudye Darling, did not get down to the bubbly yet... the house was brought down quite literally! We'll make up for it <3 Jerrine, my cat is getting quite jealous.. heated purr pads and warming discs! Never heard of these before, and I want a heated Sunbeam throw too!

I'm sure if she can, MT will restock. It's got to be difficult with handmade items, as there's so much time required to produce them.

We'll all keep our fingers crossed.

I will enjoy seeing everyone with theirs on the next collage!

    4. Oh, no, Trudye, you too? You mean I'm alone in my pig status? From what you had written, I thought you had already ordered them. I'm SO sorry. You can borrow mine any time you like. You, too, Catherine and Annie.

I know that MT will move heaven and earth to replenish her stock if that's possible.

We really should start a co-op/timeshare thingy, don't you think?
Now, no more sobbing or you will scare the kitties...plus your eyes will be all swollen;-)
      Big hug,
      Trudye

    6. Well, you're most gracious, Trudye, and you're right - timing is everything, and life often gets in the way. You will get the next great MT jewel, I know.

Yes, we could have a timeshare on the necklaces, kind of like those "traveling pants" that were so famous a few years back. (For the life of me, I can't remember the title of that movie.)

Okay, drying my eyes and wishing you and all the members of Le Salon a wonderful weekend.

Glad to hear that you made it to the pre-order list. You're faster than our dear little friend, Trudye.
