Spring and spring additions!

Spring arrived early and out of nowwhere this year.. it is probably the greenest and lushest March Equinox since we moved to the South of France 14 years ago.

Almond trees are always the first to blossom... I took the picture below when walking with Milo, shortly after we came back from skiing.

Casual weekend look with my beloved Les Plaisiers du Froid, folded into a rectangular stripe and tied in a criss-cross knot with a Grande Classique scarf ring

Love my sweet custom dachshund bag charm from Luxe Leather Crafts What's more, it is double sided, so it will be fabulous with many of my other bags too.

Last week has been incredibly warm and mild, with temperatures up to 26 celsius. Nothing brings out blossoms, buds and leaves faster.

The new Bleu Marine and Peacock MaiTai Collection linen colors have just arrived in time for spring, and will be joined by fuchsia cotton within the next weeks. Some items are already available in the new linen (scarf and shawl pochettes and organizers, as well as Picotin 18 and 22 inserts).

Style sheet for the OOTD pictures above and below

Capsule wardrobe pieces: off-white silk shirt, cream tank top, grey cardigan and dark denim jeans
Accessories: Hermes Mythiques Phoenix and Les Plaisiers du Froid 90 carrés. MaiTai Collection sparkling crystal earrings in mocha
Shoes: Roger Vivier Belle Vivier in nude and Converse Breakpoint sneakers in light gold

Mythiques Phoenix 90 in an asymmetrical wrap with MaiTai Collection crystal earrings in mocca

Picotin 18 insert in Bleu Marine

So happy to share my excitement about my first Evelyne: Bleu Agate Clemence, PM size

The beautiful Bleu Agate turned out to be a perfect match to the Gerard Darel tunic blouse I bought a couple of weeks earlier (available here on French site), and the casual style will be perfect with another spring addition, a light gold pair of Converse breakpoint sneakers (here on the French site and US site)

It always is great fun to combine new additions with old favorites...here with my Cuirs de Desert 90 carré in a cowboy knot, ends secured with a Petite Classique scarf ring in the basic slide.

Photo Finish in the basic bias fold

Capsule wardrobe pieces: cornflower tunic top and dark denim jeans
Accessories: Hermes Photo Finish and Cuirs de Desert 90 carrés, Kelly Double Tour bracelet in ebene and Evelyne III size 29/PM in bleu agate. MaiTai Collection Petite Classique scarf ring in sunshine honey and pebble necklace in or
Shoes: metallic sneakers in light gold

Have a most happy and wonderful spring everyone xx

  1. Lovely post! Today I am wearing a black turtleneck sweater, a grey and black tweed skirt, black stockings and black shoes. If it weren't for my Zénobie, La Reine de Palmyre- scarf I would look like an undertaker. Your post made me long for spring even more. Maybe I should start with my own closet...

Can you hear Elton ? "blue eyes, baby's got blue eyes....." I'll be like a juke box for the rest of the day now that I have this song in my head!
So nice to start to see all these small new leaves on trees and spring flowers around.

Have a nice end of week MT and swans,

  3. Spring? What Spring? We went from 80 to 27 back to 86 yesterday, so a touch of winter and apparently no spring whatsoever - right smack dab into dreaded summer.

I'm envious of your blue sky, your balmy weather and beautiful blossoms. And, I very much like your new blue baby - just about the color of your eyes!

And new organizers in Bleu Marine, too. Oh goody, perfect timing.

Enjoy your spring and enjoy it for me, too, while you're at it.

Much love to you and all the Swans . . . and Catherine, of course,

  4. Bonjour,

  6. Not that there was any colour that didn't suit you perfectly...but this blue really lets you shine...and goes so well with your sky! I'm envious too, spring here has mostly been grey and not too many blossoms around me yet. The south of France must be so colourful now, and you captured the explosion of nature really well. I'm sure Milo has a lot to sniff...congrats on your first crossbody, an ideal companion for a more elegant dog walk (and else!). For me, it will be Wellingtons and waterproof jackets for the next months...so I follow Jerrine in asking you to enjoy spring for me as well.
    Love,
    Katja

    1. Dear MaiTai,
what a wonderful spring post! Thank you so much for the colours, the light and the warmth!
Dear Katja, please tell us about your plans for the next months... I'm really curious where you are going with your Wellingtons and waterproof jacket.
      Best wishes Claudia

    2. Well, if spring is here - like today - I'll leave my wellingtons and raincoat at the doorstep and enjoy the weather...but taking the last weeks into account, not quite realistic! So, for walking the dog, wellingtons are my best option:)
BTW, sorry, dear Claudia, I didn't answer you regarding Cologne- unfortunately, I no longer live in that area...I'm closer to home now, right in the center of Bavaria:)
Enjoy every minute of beautiful spring!

    3. Dear Katja, what a pity... it would have been so nice to meet you. My next trip to Bavaria will be in june. I'll visit Regensburg on grounds of business matters.
Happy spring to all swans, Claudia

    4. Dear Katja, hope the Wellington boots and raincoats are in the back of the closet by now, and that spring has sprung with a burst of colors and mild temperatures!
Warmest greetings to Cologne, dear Claudia! Hope you and Katja will meet one day soon, blue sky et all x

  7. Katja--

Jerrine and I envy your weather! We're headed into the heat of summer and it's not even April yet! It was one of the warmest winters on record in the Southern US, and to hear you talk about Wellies and jackets is almost more than my little Southern heart can take! Think of us as you enjoy a hot chocolate in front of the fire, because I'm running the air conditioning already--I know, blasphemy!

Mai Tai, the blue is so lovely and I know I've done well when I've just added the same color to my wardrobe! If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, consider yourself sincerely flattered that I have a similar blue top (with the most wonderful bell sleeves) that I wear with khaki pants. You inspire us!

Happy spring to all in the pond--

    1. Well, Greta, don't feel too badly, as my AC has been running, too, both in the car and at home. It felt like August here two days ago.

If it's this hot now, how are we going to survive summer? I barely made it through the last one. Furthermore, it will be the shortest H scarf-wearing season on record. I ripped one off the other day as soon as I got to work - too hot; too hot.

Katja, Greta and I are headed your way. I wear a US size 8 in Wellies and prefer a pair in a cheerful color. Red would be nice. Greta will let you know about her size and color preference. (Just re-read her post, and she seems to have a predilection for blue, so now you have it!) See you soon.

      Best,
      Jerrine

    2. Yes, dears, if you're longing for cooler temperatures, Germany it is! Cool 7 degrees this morning, still good for shawls. We're improving this week, even some sunshine, and we will scratch at the 20 degrees mark. Wellies in all colours of the rainbow will be waiting for you, dear Greta and Jerrine, well needed to raise your spirits when it's another grey day, and we had plenty this week. I can imagine that boiling heat in March is not a good trade-off, considering we have no a/c...so I'll stop complaining, wrap some silk around me and enjoy my cool weather, plus worrying about more important matters than weather. Hoping that the craziness in this world will stop one day! Sending love to London, and some cool vibes and a fresh breeze to the southern swans...

    3. I will take your fresh breeze--my morning run was a sweat fest, which wasn't attractive at all! Thank goodness for these dark mornings!

    4. What a nice idea to pair our cornflower blue tops with khaki pants, dearest Greta! So sorry about your and Jerrine's non-existing winter and spring though. We should all go and visit Katja. I might camp there during the whole of summer! Have a happy Easter Week!

    1. Most definitely, Catherine. Another tragic day, and we, of course, stand with London and the warm and wonderful British people.

An American died, as well. He and his wife were in London, celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary and were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I saw that the Eiffel Tower went dark again in honor of the victims. It has gone dark far too many times . . .

      Sadly,
      Jerrine

    2. Dear MT, I'm with every other sane person on earth, in envying your weather! The almond blossoms are beautiful, as is your wonderful new H bag. What a spectacular color blue! I love crossbody bags, they're so convenient.

I'll be wearing Wellies like Katja. We get the occasional mild sunshiny day here in Seattle, followed by buckets and buckets of cold rain. Everything is soggy.

Greta and Jerrine, you poor wilting swans! How do you endure the long, hot summers? I will attempt to send you some of our chilly rain.

Much aloha and happy weekend to all,
      Fifi

    4. Oh Fifi, could I come back on your offer of sending chilly rain say in July/August ? Because this is the time we pay the price for all this lovely spring weather! How we endure it? I haven't found the perfect solution yet. Ice cold Rosé does help a little bit though xx
