Lock look

The locks of my Birkin and Kelly bags practically never see the daylight, as I mostly carry my bags without. Today I took them out of my drawer to marvel at their beauty.. then it hit me, would they not make excellent small scarf rings? I found out they are ideal for Gavroches, which is especially good news as Gavroche rings are so hard to come by. Here goes with my Ex-libris.

  1. Very nice and creative way to reuse an item. If you had to say, which scarf ring do you find most useful?

  2. In general or with any particular Carré size in mind?

  5. So creative and putting all the beauties to good use! Yes, I would also like to know the most versatile scarf ring, for the Carre 70cm and 90cm (is that how you term the scarf size?)
    Thanks,

  7. BM, for the 90 Carré and the Plissé the Regate is for sure the best option. I can't think of another H scarf ring that allows you do the Plissé flower knot. The Regate also works with 70 Cotton Scarves and 70 Vintage Carrés.There are a few examples in the 'Ode' section. It comes in Palladium and gold (plated). Hope this helps!

  8. Hi Susan, my above message to Bonjour Madame applies to your question too, the Regate works with both sizes you mentioned. And yes, the classic Scarf is a 90 Carré and the 70 is mostly referred to as 70 Vintage (Carré) or 70 Carré.

Since you did not mention a Plissé, another option for you would be a Chain d'Ancre scarf ring in horn. They are beautiful, lightweight and very classic Hermès. I am wearing one in the 'Belles du Mexique' H it Up post and also in the very last pic of the Magic scarf post in the Ode section. Click on the pics to enlarge them for a better view. The Chaine d'Ancre works with Gavroches too, btw. Good luck!

  9. Bonjour Madame and Susan,

in all posts I have linked 'beauty shots' to the items I am wearing. To see the rings, click on their name in the respective posts and a pic will come up.

Scarf rings are so useful and change the way a scarf looks so much. Will try and post more examples.

  15. Hello Mai Tai,

I am so awed by your creativity. May I know for this 'Kelly lock look' what knot is it that you use? Is there a 'how to' video?

  16. Thank you, KellyBeeGirl. The 'knot' is very simple, you just feed both ends through the lock, coming from opposite directions.
