Early summer

April this year has been warm and summery, the trees are already green and lush and the fields full of wildflower bloom.

I don't think I've ever started so early to tie my scarves in summery knots, but with the thermometer climbing up to 27 celsius last week, a light and airy scarf necklace turned out to be a great way to wear my Fleurs d'Indiennes 90 carré.

Capsule pieces: ecru cotton trousers and orange linen sweater
Accessories: Hermes 'Fleurs d'Indiennes' 90 carré, Clic-clac H enamel bracelet in bleu indiens and a Bolide 31 in Bleu de Prusse.
Shoes: Superga sneakers

Variation - replacing the orange sweater with a dark blue shirt and the blue Bolide with a Picotin 22 in sanguine.

With a Cavalleria d'Etriers cashmere shawl worn in the basic bias fold

Red, white and black with an ecru silk shirt and an Hermès 'Capitales' printed enamel bracelet.

With warmer temperatures and longer days it will soon be time to get out favorite summer recipes... start a balmy summer night with strawberry Rossini cocktails and indulge with a mixed berry Pavlova for desert.

    2. Well, Ms. Catherine, that's certainly an apropos quote. You and Mr. Wilde are right. In fact, I think MT should rename her "boutique." Don't you feel that Taitations or Tempations by Tai would be more appropriate?

What lovely and tempting creations they are, though. I just picked up the red statement necklace at the post office, and it is fabulous. If it doesn't get some attention, I don't know what will! It will certainly dress up the summer black (kind of like the winter black come to think of it :-). I love it, as it reminds me of branch coral - so unique.

      Happy shopping,
      Jerrine

    5. Aww dearest Catherine and Jerrine, you are so funny. I like Tai's Temptations too, but how about 'Happy Pond'? Could be then be the swans's official HQ too.

Jerrine darling.. I am sorry to have to disagree, but Catherine is spot on..you are magnificent in every way. And since I know you in person, there is no point in you trying to deny it!

  5. Dearest MaiTai, your creativity and efforts to surprise with new items are unbelievable! What amazed me most - did you match the colours of your delicious pavlova with your outfit or the other way round? You are top of class in finding perfect combinations of nature, food and fashion!
I tried to resist the sequined stole for the longest time, but now I agree with Catherine and Oscar Wilde...the ombré is wonderful and very tempting...
    Enjoy the colorful spring time!

    1. It's a very good question, dear Katja, and as difficult to answer as to what was first, the egg or the hen! I have a pretty good memory for colors and images, and when I looked through the outfit pics, the Pavlova came to my mind. Subconsiously though, it might have been the Pavlova which inspired the wardrobe combination in the first place!

Congratulations on your new earrings and necklace. They go so well with the very springlike outfits.
Agreeing with Katja, I find it hard to resist the new stole. It would be perfect with all my neutrals... Wishing you and all the Swans a happy week ahead, Manuela xx

  9. Darlin' MT, you are like a breath of fresh air with the launch of the MT Collection S/S16! As stated by dear Manuela, you do inspire and give us pause, to take the time to find inspiration in that which surrounds us on a daily basis. Your ability to pull it all together is uncanny, my friend!
Congrats on another successful launch! I am sitting on my hands to keep from ordering the new ombré stole! Let's see how long that lasts;) Mwahs, T xx

    1. Trudye, it's not a question of want; it's a question of need. You NEED that stole.

I figured you'd probably already ordered it!

Come on now, get off those hands (not good for the manicure either),

    3. I have it on today, Manuela. Wish I could put up a picture to show you just how wonderful it is. It really jazzes up a pair of black pants and a simple black top.

I love the fact that I have something very unique and won't see it repeated over and over . . . at least until the Swans convene for that meet up in Paris!

      Best to you,
      Jerrine

    4. Aye, the difference between want and need is a very fine line indeed,Jerrine!
Given our climate is now akin to the Mekong Delta, I have a little more hand sitting to do. I will touch up the manicure in the meantime and hope that this new stole is available when the time is right! T xx
