70 Cotton Carré

Todays LBS episode features a 70 Cotton Carré, a great and lightweight scarf for spring/summer. Because of its graphic pattern and contrasting CW it's ideal for the Butterfly knot, which gives it a crisp yet feminine look. For a how-to click here

  1. You are convincing me more and more to get a scarf in black and white. They always look great. Do you have any that you really recommend for versatility?

  2. Bonjour Madame, a b&w scarf is a true classic staple and a great accessory addition. To find out which is exactly right for you, it would be best if you could try them on. Some people look great with a crisp white, while on others a softer shade works better. For the design, it depends which type of knots you prefer. If you like to leave the ends long, a symetrical corner design with a contrast border works best. Other knots call for a less formal design, all subject to taste of course. And then there is the material and size to consider! Again, so much down to personal preferences. The most classic material is silk, which goes most seasons except hot weather. For size a Gavroche (45cm) has a lot of mileage, but a 90 Carré is a true classic. If that feels too big, a 70Vintage might be just perfect. The AW2009 collection is trickling into the stores and online boutiques right now, and there are some fabulous b&w to choose from. Good luck! :-)
