Capsule wardrobe #91 - back to winter

It's been raining for days, and if it wasn't for the daffodils in the garden, all hopes for spring would have been slowly washed away.

The temperatures dropped accordingly, and so it is back to dress for warmth. While continuing with this week's black/brown capsule pieces, adding a warm and cosy cashmere shawl today, the La Danse du Cheval Marwari

With a fire lit at home, apples seem to be a more appropriate market fare than spring greens and flowers, at least for the moment...

Capsule pieces: black jeans and dark brown sweater
Shoes: Hermès Jumping boots in Mocca
Accessories: Hermès 'La Danse du Cheval Marwari' cashmere GM, clic-clac H bracelet in bourgogne and Picotin in rubis
Scarf tying method: basic slide

The orchid is completely unfazed by the return of winter... a second flower came out a couple of days ago...

Another variation with the Circuit 24 Faubourg (in a pleated bow knot and with a bleu indiens bracelet),  for when the skies are clear again...

What is your weather like?

  1. Once again sitting here in lack of words - and just decided to quote our dear Oscar winner Christoph Waltz, who likes to use the word "über" - you're UBERCHIC! Love the La Danse du Cheval GM - such a neutral, yet colourful classic; her and Ms. Pico literally go "hand in hand". ;-) And since you know that I'm also a fan of the combination of black and brown I need to say no more. Our weather has been lovely and spring is certainly on it's way - however winter will also have a comeback next week. Oh well, one more chance to sport your lovely fur collars. Sending warm orange hugs as always - best, Macs

  2. Well, downunder in Sydney, Autumn has commenced, minimum 18deg Cent. to max 29deg Centigrade. Perfect days. I am longing for the heat to disappear and for the time to pull the scarves out. The new season apples are just appearing and last weekend I made my first apple cake of the season. Enjoy your Blog MaiTai, I found it via Faux Fuchsia.

    Longue vie a votre orchidée.
    Trés bon weekend

  7. You so loook chic (as ever) in your La Danse du Cheval Marwari stole. I have La Danse in a vibrant green , and I wear it often.
I'm here in Philadelphia, and it's bitter and damp, with some snow that blew through this morning. Brrrr...! It's a perfect day for a cup of Ladureee Othello tea ( which I'm sipping at the moment) and I've just had some lovely Bucheron cheese and a ripe pear.
Wishing you a rain-free weekend, and hoping your orchid continues to bring you joy!

  11. Love all these stunning combinations, especially the way you've brought out the gorgeous deep pinky red tones of the shawl. I also love the black and brown with the turquoise accent.

Here we're back to winter as well - just had some snow overnight! I'm so disappointed since I really hoped that spring was finally on its way...hopefully all the gorgeous little crocuses and early daffodils won't have been killed off.

Have a lovely Mothering Sunday (not sure if it's the same day in France)!

    1. Very much hoping all the little crocuses and daffodils survived the backlash of winter, and that warm spring sunshine will be on it's way soon, dear Melusine! Mother's Day in France is on May 26... hope you had a lovely one yesterday <3

  12. Dearest Maitai,
Oh how I commiserate with you re the colder days - last week was cold, wet and even snowy, but this week holds promise of warmer days :-) I love your beautiful red outfit, so wonderfully warming and you are positively glowing. Of course, the C24F ensemble is much too irresistible, a brown-black-aqua perfection - just adore the seat pic. Wishing you a most wonderful week ahead, dear MaiTai. Much love and happy warm spring hugs to you xxx

    1. Our weather seems to be very much the same, my dear Scarf Enthusiast! Yesterday it was so beautiful and warm that we had our lunch outside, it was just wonderful. By the time we finished, a thunderstorm darkened the sky, and we ended up having coffee inside by the cosy fire. C24F hugs to you, and have a wonderful week ahead xx
