Spring!

Spring is here in full bloom and blossom, carrying the promise of long and warm days ahead and a sense of excitement that only the two big season changes can bring. As the days grow longer and warmer, and the wardrobe gets gradually switched from warm and cosy winter pieces to lighter fabrics and colors, it feels like shedding a cocoon. I've added a couple of new wardrobe staples to my capsule wardrobe, which are a perfect canvas for the spring collection of long gemstone necklaces and lighter and brighter scarves.

Below: Georges Rech Tweed jacket and a couple H& M tops (both a steal at 9.95 EUR each): fine knit v-neck sweater in pale pink (US site here) and light beige linen t-shirt (US site here)

I hope you enjoy the post and have a wonderful and happy spring!

  2. How nice to visit your blog again, dear MaiTai! The new necklaces are gorgeous and the beautiful lively spring colors do my heart good. I've been ill for awhile with no energy or desire to do what wasn't absolutely necessary. Hmmm, now I'm thinking this cheerful, elegant world is indeed necessary. Looking forward to relaxing tonight and beginning to catch up on all the posts from last year. Thank you for continuing to publish this terrific blog.

I also wanted to say how very sorry I am to know of the awful fire at Notre Dame de Paris. My co-worker and I were in tears yesterday. How moving to see her still standing in this morning's news photos.

Much aloha to all the beautiful Swans --

    1. Dearest Fifi,
very sorry to hear you have been unwell- I was indeed worried because you haven’t shown up for so long! Spring is a good time for more cheerful thoughts and nature is helping, too- surprising us with new blooms every day. I hope catching up with lots of beautiful pictures will have a positive effect and leaves you filled with new energy.

What a pleasure to see the MaiTai collection pieces in the very same colours nature spoils us with!

All the best to you, dear Fifi, looking forward to meet you on the pond again soon and a big thank you to dear MaiTai for this inspiring spring post.
      Happy Easter!
      Katja

    2. Dearest Fifi, - you have been very much missed and I'm so glad you are better! Hope the warm spring sunshine and pretty blossoms give you an additional boost.

Not only was I so happy to see you commenting again, but also thrilled that it got through at all. The pond has almost closed down, as comments just would not publish/turn up (it was only last week that I discovered a few thousand messages in the spam folder, dating back years. This might be the reason the message system was congested and no new posts got through). Hopefully we are back to normal now.

The Notre Dame fire was just heartbreaking. As you said, it was such a relief to see that she’s still standing, it could have been so much worse.

Sending you friendship hugs and best wishes for a continued recovery and good health!

      Happy Easter, dearest Katja!
So glad your comment got through as well, it gives me hope that our gatherings at the pond are not a thing of the past.
Hope you are enjoying a beautiful and happy spring and have a wonderful Easter weekend!

  3. What a wonderful, cheerful, happy post. Your posts are always up-lifting and positive in the best way and I thank you for your inspirations. I love the many blossoms, especially of the "Laimnelke", a treasured, wild flower. The new necklaces are beautiful - I feel they are getting even more special with each new creation. Yesterday, I wore my horn bangle again and still adore it.
Happy spring, you look fantastic and hugs to the Wiener boys.

  4. Hello, dear Katja and MaiTai! Thanks for your kind words. What better time than spring to wake up from a long nap, like Rip Van Winkle! I'm grateful that I must care for Willieman; because he needed me, I couldn't sink into despair, however much I wanted to at times. And now I'm feeling a little more like myself every day! I've got my eye on the gorgeous gray-tassel necklace, if one is still available when I am ready to celebrate being medication-free (God willing, that will be soon)!
    Aloha nui loa, dear ladies!
