June

June has been an absolutely lovely month. The days have been beautiful and sunny without being too hot, while nightly rainfalls made sure that fields remain green and lush, with flowers and blossoms flourishing everywhere. It's been a total joy to walk the dogs, camera on hand of course.

For most of the time during the last few weeks I've been busy with new projects (coming in the autumn) and products. The development and production stages always seem to take much longer than you think, so I am glad that the new collection items I planned for summer are perfected and ready just in time!

Hope you enjoy the post and have a happy and beautiful early summer xxx

  1. Dearest MaiTai and all the lovely Swans,

What a beautiful start into the summertime! The new additions are simply irresistible. And, thanks to our dear MT tireless creativity and continued innovation, we can expect more beauties to appear after summer! I am already thrilled with anticipation.
In the meantime, let's celebrate new additions with a glass of bubbly (rosé for me, of course ;-) and enjoy beautiful summer days ahead.

MaiTai, you look like summer personified, so gorgeous and sunny.

    Have a great summer!

    1. Joining in with a glass of bubbly, my dearest Aneta! Better still, why don't I come over with a case of bubbly to your cooler shores, and we invite the other swans to a lake party?
Have a wonderful summer too, and hope you enjoy the new goodies to come!xx

  2. Chère MaiTai,

Comme d'habitude, une magnifique publication. Les combinaisons "couleur" des sautoir sont à ravir.
    Très belle journée !

  3. Hello!

Such lovely colors! And they all echo with the lovely cool tones that match your beautiful weather! Did you hear a trace of envy in my voice? That's only because it's hotter than the hinges of hell here in Lower Alabama and I'm wishing my life away waiting for October! Until then, however, I can admire your photos and the fact you can wear scarves without melting! Enjoy your summer, swans!

    1. No need to be envious, dearest Greta. Yesterday the hottest day on record hit France, and the heat wave was at it's worst in our area. Glad to have finished the post in the nick of time, because now there isn't a trace of chic, scarf-wearing outfits left. Kaftans and swimsuits reign, but thankfully there are always bracelets and necklaces to console us with..Stay cool and have a wonderful weekend!

  4. Greta, my heat hating friend! You suffering, too, huh? I moved from Atlanta to North Carolina last year, expecting somewhat of a respite (well North threw me off), as one usually associates North with being
cool. Am I right? Apparently not. It's even hotter here and more humid. I am, therefore, officially hibernating until mid-October.

I so envy MT for always looking cool, collected and accessorized at the same time, but she always pulls it off . . . apparently effortlessly. Right now just the thought of a silk scarf brings on a wave of nausea.

Love to you and the Swans, though,
    Jerrine

    1. Hello! It's so miserable here, but at least we had some rain tonight to break the heat. The grass is crunchy and I wouldn't wear a scarf if you paid me! Now I thought everyone in North Carolina lived in the shadows of beautiful mountains, had lovely scenery and basked in glorious weather. Are you bursting my bubble? Girlfriend, you and I are air conditioning girls. Until October, we'll just have to watch MT and admire her flair. Someday soon we'll be able to pull off those looks, but there will have to be significantly less humidity!

    2. Yes, dear, consider your bubble burst. All of North Carolina is not created equal! I live on what are considered the plains of NC. It's pretty, but it's hot, and we get horrendous storms.

Went for a long walk this morning at 6:30, and it was already sultry and uncomfortable. Then I spent an hour and a-half working in the garden, and my hair was dripping..A thirty-minute shower was required!

I waived at the scarves as I walked through the closet to the bath. "Hello pretty babies; I'll see you in October." Until then, like you, I'll just admire MT wearing hers and try to think cool thoughts.

      Love to you,
      Jerrine

  5. Wow, all the new treats are lovely - so fresh and summer appropriate. You look gorgeous, as always and so cool. And, you never sweat. I could almost hate you for that!

Have a wonderful summer and enjoy your travels.

    Love,

    1. Thank you Dearest, happy you like the new additions! You'd have to change your comment into the past tense though... no more cool looks here at the moment! Yesterday France recorded its hottest day EVER and our area was hit worst.. 45+ celsius. The heat literally sucked every bit of chic out of me. Chin chin to cooler temperatures in Alabama, North Carolina, France and everywhere else. Stay cool and hydrated. Love xx

  7. Dear MaiTai,
what great photos and what a great woman!
I'm so excited how good these colors look to you! And also I am a little jealous, how effortlessly you can defy the summer temperatures!

I wish you a wonderful summer holiday and look forward to the upcoming projects (and maybe we'll all learn the new shawl knot after the holiday ;-))
Now I will join the bubble party and hope for cooling!
Best wishes to all swans Claudia

    1. Dear Claudia, - thanks so much for the lovely words! Summer has unfortunately defeated me since... in the last couple of days it's been about 15 degrees hotter than I can tolerate.
Looking forward to leaving the heatwave behind next week and hope it'll have subsided on my return. A bubble party is definitely a good idea, my vote is for somewhere North (Aneta?). Have a wonderful summer (with hopefully moderate temperatures to come)! Liebe Grüsse

Joining with the others that will be bypassing the H silks until we see cooler days. Bring on the chilled bubbly, please! T xx

    2. Count me in for chilled bubbly- even here we are melting, I’m trading 10 degrees less than France for an air-con!
Your cool looks are really soothing and make me long for the time when silks come back into play. Delightful nature all along, I hope the heat wave didn’t ruin it.
Keep cool, my dear fellow swans and I’m eagerly anticipating some snippets of your travel discoveries! Happy summer holidays and looking forward to your new projects...

      Cheers!
