Capsule wardrobe #81 - Ice skating

In the Christmas holidays, ice skating is one of our traditional outings. In my childhood, we went skating on frozen lakes, but there is no such thing in the South of France... so we'll go to an ice rink instead.

Dressing in warm layers is essential, so I've added a couple of extra layers under the hooded top. Another lifesaver is to choose skates half a shoe size bigger than usual, which allows you to wear thick and warm skiing socks to keep your feet cosy.

The 'outer layer' capsule pieces

Capsule pieces: jeans, cream hooded top and blue blazer
Shoes: ice skates
Accessories: Hermès 'La Danse du Cheval Marwari' cashmere GM,  'Capitales' enamel bracelet and Picotin in rubis (stored in the locker)
Scarf tying method: basic slide

  6. Yes, ITA with Manuela. You show so much grace and elegance in your form and in what you wear. I would have to wear a long enough to cover my bum in the event that I needed extra cushioning. Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas, dear.

    Warm orange hugs,

  7. i have found your blog this year, and you have been a real inspiration to me, so thank you big time!!! I am a bigger woman, but can still try your classic pieces, and of course the scarves mean I don't need a lot of basics as I lose weight and have to buy new clothes on the journey.

In exciting news from here, Santa left an orange box under the tree for me :) And a beach towel... we really are on the other side of the world in a whole different season.
