Capsule wardrobe #101

It's been a while, and I hope everyone had a lovely start to summer. DS went for a two weeks tennis camp, and I've been abroad, to see family and friends. En route, I spent a couple of days in Paris, and as soon as I've finished sorting through the pictures, I will post updates of the summer windows at FSH. In the meantime, this and the next post will be the last ones of the Venetian inspired capsule wardrobe series.

Capsule pieces: white jeans,  Scoop 3/4 Sleeve in Seaspray and  Long Cascade Wrap in Navy
Shoes: Hermès Oran sandals in bronze metallic

    1. Many thanks, dear Jane! It was wonderful to catch up with loved and dear ones, and DS apparently perfected a killer serve. You are right re the LLdT, I folded it so that the gold/navy/turquoise would show only. A how-to is coming! Hava a great week x

  4. Is that a new scarf I spy :)- it matches the top wonderfully. I chose a square vest in Seaspray from Kettlewell which I've been wearing today with my Pani-La Shaw Pawnee, the teal edge matches wonderfully with this colour top. I'm sure I'm not going to be the only one of your readers who is happy with the Kettlewell recommendation- I've been having great fun picking colours to match various scarves!!

    1. Glad it looks like a new scarf to you, because this is exactly how it feels to me ;-) Lovely to be P-LSP twins with you, I’ve teamed mine (it is a 70, but has teal edges too) with Seaspray too. Happy mixing, matching and colour playing!

    1. Love white jeans for the same reason, they are such a quick and easy ‘summer-rizer’ to any outfit!

  6. Glad to see you back, and absolutely love the outfit. It would work here in Florida! One question, Mai Tai, what perfume do you wear? I'd love to know!

    1. The color similarities between Venice and Florida came to my mind too! Re perfum, I like variety, and the choice also depends on the season. In summer, I prefer light scents.. my current favorites are: Aqua di Parma, ‘Orange Vert’ by Hermès and ‘Eau de Sud’ by Annick Goutal. And the new ‘Jour d’Hermès’!

  7. Welcome back, my dearest MaiTai!
    I have missed you!

Congrats on your pretty RV sandals. They have such a beautiful colour that is perfect with the top in Seaspray and 'Le Laboratoire du temps'. You always have an amazing eye to combine colours in the perfect way :)
Hope you had a great time away and both you and your DS enjoyed it very much.
Thank you for more lovely photographs of Venice.

Have a great and relaxing Sunday. Warm, Summer hugs, Manuela

  8. Gorgeous combination again. Is this your brown Laboratoire du temps cleverly tied, or have you now got it in the navy colourway as well?
If you do, then we are scarf twins!! Thanks for introducing me to Kettlewell. I have bought a few long cascades and the lovely purple merino wrap which is adding a lovely block of colour to my winter wardrobe and giving me a few more outfits to wear with some of my less worn scarves.

    1. It is my brown Laboratoire (we are scarf siblings)! The gold/turqouise rectangle in the center was perfect for the outfit, and then it was just the question of finding a way to highlighting it. I’ve tried a few other scarves in the same way, and it is amazing in how many ‘new scarves’ it resulted! So happy you are pleased with Kettlewell!

  15. Welcome back, dear! Love the seaspray color on you. I often wear this color, and found it's perfect with my Fleurs d'Indiennes, which even though mine is a different colorway than yours, I think your cw would be beautiful with seapsray. What are your thoughts? Have you tried it with Au Coeur de la vie? I find this color to be very versatile, and it's perfect with your LdT and how you're brought the seaspray and blues out of the scarf. The magic of MaiTai and H. :-)

    Warm orange hugs, dear.

    1. So true my dearest CS, Seaspray is perfect for the FdI and the Au coeur de la vie! It also works beautifully with the Rendez-Vous Rive Gauche, Ex-Libris en Kimonos and the Pani Tara mentioned above. Hope you’ll enjoy the how-to... such fun finding out which older scarves can be turned into the best ‘new’ scarves! Hugs x

  16. Beautiful to see you back! For me, the only good reason for having smart phone is to be able, during work on my asparagus bed (or in some other part of my hobby garden), to see your new post! Imagine - a lady with dirty fingers scrolling the screen down, thinking about combining her own H scarves into a new outfit, inspired by your post. Love, Lea

    1. Oh Lea, you grow your own asparagus, how wonderful! It is so special and rewarding to pull ingredients for dinner out of your own ground. There is an asparagus field nearby where we live, and the farmer sells it straight out of his garage. It’s the next best thing.. The season has finished some weeks ago though, will have to wait until next year! xx

  17. My dearest MaiTai,
A warm welcome back - how much I've missed you! Hope you had a wonderful trip abroad and your DS enjoyed his tennis camp! Once again, you've waved your special magic wand, and voilà, the most beautiful ensemble and another great scarf tying invention - your imagination and creativity are truly infinite! Your new RV's are so beautiful and très chic. I have been in heaven admiring all the many previous posts I've missed. Thank you, dear MaiTai, for the many treasured beauties from Venice <3 Sending you all my love and big welcome back hugs xxx
