This week in Paris - part one

We've been very lucky while visiting Paris for a couple of days this week.. on our arrival the sky cleared after days of rain, and we had a few days of beautiful crisp and golden autumn weather.

After running errands in the 2nd arrondissement we found ourselves near the charming Bistrot Vivienne at lunchtime.

We settled into a cosy banquette and enjoyed the traditional atmosphere, and had excellent ravioli and Tarte Tatin.

The Bistrot Vivienne is located near the Place du Victoire and the Jardin du Palais and decorated with large mirrors, banquets, velvet armchairs and wooden tables and chairs. The Gallerie Vivienne divides the two dining rooms of the Bistrot and dates back to 1823. It houses beautiful shops and a wonderful wine bar (Lucien Legrand http://www.caves-legrand.com/univers/), a great place for an apéritif.

None of the Hermès stores had the elusive 'C'est la fête' scarf in stock, but there was certainly a big fête going on in the window display of the Rue de Sèvres boutique! The orangutan, dromedary and goose from a previous display where joined by new friends, and together they've sucessfully created as much havoc as before..

Never been to the Bistrot Vivienne though. One more thing to add to my to do list ;-P
Is that a "caramel au beurre salé" on the saucer? Love those!
    Thanks for sharing dear MT.

    1. With the nearby Rue de Montmartre and Place du Victoire it's a lovely area for shopping altogether. The little treat was a soft toffee, but the flavor of the ice cream was caramel au beurre salé!

    1. So happy you enjoyed coming along, my dearest Scarf Enthusiast! We were incredibly lucky with the weather indeed, and the food was lovely. The ravioli had a pumkin filling and came with a sauce based on chicken broth. Wish I could hide in the bistro's kitchen for a day and learn all the secrets! Have a most wonderful week ahead too xx
