Capsule wardrobe #108 - autumn playtime

Summer is reluctant to leave the South of France, and the days are still beautiful and warm.. too warm for my autumn wardrobe additions though! Instead of wearing them, I am playing in my wardrobe.. and planning outfits for the cooler days to come.

Aix-en-Provence, Place des Prêcheurs

Capsule pieces: wool skirt in mustard and black sweater
Shoes: tri-color patent leather pumps
Accessories: Hermès 'Carré en Carré' 90 Carré (folded into the Brides de Gala section)
'Grand Apparat' enamel bracelet and 35 Birkin in black

Scarf tying method: fold into a rectangular shape, and secure the ends with a shawl ring in the basic slide

one of DS's favorites: tartelette au citron and chocolat chaud ~ Café Riederer, Aix-en-Provence

  2. So elegant and perfect match as usual... Guess what I just saw some maxi-twillys that could suit perfectly well with your new wardrobe and especially with your nice little black Darel dress. But I'm sure you got an eye on these new beauties already ;-))
Have a nice evening my Dear MT

    1. Oh I have not seen any of the Maxi Twillys, other than in the catalogue! 'Maxi' seems to be almost an understatement, and how fun they come in oversized Twilly tubes. Wonder which ones you saw, and if any came home with you? Have a wonderful weekend xx

    2. Of course, I could’nt resist… and brought two home with me. The first one is Brazil in Orange/Grey/ Pink and Cavalcadour in Bordeaux/Canard/Fuchsia. Both of them in Black are gorgeous too . I am sure that we are going to have fun with this new format (very very nice worn as a large belt or hanged around the neck, lighter than an scarf and sport chic bringing a touch of colours, perfect for this time of the year). During the week-end I’m planning to play with your scarf rings and anneau Infinity. I would love to have you around to have fun and I'm sure that you would do some spectacular and creative knots with these maxi-twillys !!! Have a wonderful weekend and week ahead.xx

I was saying that I would like to be with you in the Café Riederer tasting this delicious tartelette, talking without end of all your "tresors" ... Of course, particularly the ones of Hermes and for sure of many
other subjects but please please in French...
My English is really too bad and when I read my former comments I am ashamed.

  8. P.s. I have to go to Paris for RV because they have not in Gva !!! Isnt it stupid? We have all trades here.
I have tried on them in NY but a little bit too hard for my feet I love yours and all of them but I need very soft leather unfortunately

    1. I have to get them in Paris too, my dear Monica! RV does not have many boutiques worldwide, although they seem to be busy expanding.. Re the leather, perhaps the Gommette or Chips style in suede would work? Bonne chance!

  9. Dear MaiTai,

Love these fall colors for the prettiest time of year. All your pieces are so fine, especially your RV's. May I ask you how they run in size? I have heard they run a bit large, so size down by half a size. What's your experience?
    Beautiful as always!

    1. Hmm, the size depends a little on the style... I have three different models (25 Belle Vivier, 45 Belle Vivier and a 45 Marlène) and they all size differently. In the higher heels (45) I wear my regular size, whereas in the 25 BVs I’m half a size down. Hope this helps! Have a lovely weekend ahead x

  10. Autumn is my favourite time of the year, and I can imagine that you're longing for crisp weather, as well. These golden hues are just glorious!
Your RV shoes have proven to be such a versatile addition to your wardrobe...I'm completely head over "heels" for them!
I am sooo thrilled that the indigo fur collar is back in stock, and I'll be placing my order next week!!
    Enjoy your weekend!

    1. Here’s to the joys’s of autumn, my dear Barbara! It’s my favorite season too. Already the light has softened, and the grapes are getting harvested.. so much fun. The RVs were a good purchase, I am thrilled how beautifully they work in all seasons. The indigo collars are flying off rapidly, will make sure to hold one back for you :-) Bon week-end!

  12. A soft spot for my soul, this colour combo of CenC!
Hope Hermes will do something similar like with MetM - and issue at least the similar colour combo (if not the same!).
Enjoy the autumn approaching us...looking forward to modelling pics.
(You will "forgive" some of us who will be copying you, I hope; it is not avoidable. If only the natural charm could be copied...I would be the first in line :)

    1. Would love to have this gorgeous scarf in some other CWs too, my dear Lea! Very much hoping it comes out one day again (but hope they’d leave it the way it is ;-) It is lovely to know that the posts are inspirational, and I'd be thrilled to have a few outfit sisters around the world! Hugs to you

    2. Of course, leaving it the way it is would be absolutely best.
Your posts are not inspirational only, they are the greatest possible source of learning for me (and, I am sure, for other "outfit sisters" around the world :).
I "exploit" some details and ideas in my "daily life", I do not publish it anywhere on web - OMG, I would be terribly ashamed to steal the idea and present it as mine.
All my friends know who my inspiration is :) And love your style too. Why name of the teacher would be hidden?
Waiting for CenC - this time I will order all cws, if possible, for security reasons (with exception of one, which I already have).

  13. Lovely color combination, dearest MaiTai! The 'Grand Apparat', and the black MT shawl ring are perfect little touches that further put it all together so beautifully. Brava, dear.

I'm with DS on the tartelette au citron and chocolat chaud. :-)

    Warm orange hugs,

    1. Thank you my dearest CS! DS has this everytime we go to Aix, it's his absolute favorite. The chocolate is the richest I've ever seen.. you get an extra pitcher of hot milk to 'water it down' (not really necessary in DS's view though!). Have a most wonderful weekend xx
