Marché Nocturne

In the summer months a lot of towns and villages host evening markets, the so called Marché Nocturnes. I just love them, they are so romantic. The stalls are brightly lit, musicians are playing in the streets and you can buy more or less anything... hand made earthenware, lavender soaps, bangles, baskets, wild boar sausages and thousand other things. They usually start around 7:00pm and are busiest late at night, when people are crowding the stalls and the restaurants and cafés are brimming with life.. late night diners enjoying an alfresco dinner while others may just have a glass of wine or an espresso, watching the busy and bustling night scene..

Today wearing ~ Cashmere GM with horn

Last night we went to dinner at a friends house. I wore a tunic top over white jeans and was glad I took my Damier shawl with me, as we were sitting outside and it got a little cooler later in the evening... Also wearing a Lift horn pendant, Lift earrings and a Grand Apparat enamel bangle.

Things I love ~ Apricots

I love apricot trees, they look so pretty with their clusters of fruit..

which dangle off them like sunshine yellow christmas baubles..

soaking up the sun for a sweet aroma and velvety texture.

The very best taste comes from those just picked,

delicious 'au nature' or with a little bit of fresh young goats cheese and a sprig of thyme. Love making apricot pie too, it's such a fabulous summer dessert.

Little Black Dress & Mousseline scarf

Today scarfing Up the LBD with a featherlight Mousseline.. they are truly wonderful and airy scarves for summer. The white border of this 'Au Coeur de la Vie' picks up beautifully on the pearl necklace and earrings, so I am wearing it with the ends showing long.

Things I love ~ my moroccan shopping basket

My favorite shopping basket is from Morocco, it's hand made, very sturdy and comes in gorgeous color combinations. The wide and shallow shape makes it perfect for vegetable and fruit shopping, as it allows to spread the produce, keeping everything unblemished and beautiful on the way back home.

Things I love ~ Summer colors at the market

A few lovely things in pretty summery colors I spotted on a market stroll last week..

Dried rose buds..

which make a lovely pot-pourrie...

cherries from Provence

and dried hibiscus flowers.

Adding a pic of the oleander growing in my garden, the color is just so pretty!

Have a fabulous summer everyone!

Little Black Dress & asymmetrical shoulder wrap

It's Sunday again! Which normalement means another LBS episode, but since summer is here, I thought it might be fun to start a Little Black Dress series and alternate the episodes with the Little Black Suit ones. The LBD allows for so many different ways to knot scarves, such as shoulder wraps, capes and bows ~ hope you'll enjoy!

So here we go with our first one, a shoulder wrap tied asymmetrically and secured with a Gavroche ring. Instead of using a scarf ring, the ends can also be tied together in a small double knot.

Next Sunday will feature again a Little Black Suit episode!
