Capsule wardrobe #72 - this week in Paris

I never get tired of admiring the clipped rows of plane trees in Paris' squares, avenues and parks. This time of year they are especially beautiful.. their gloriously coloured leaves make each tree look individual and special.

This week's trip was 'girls only' (entre copines). It was great fun and involved visits to several H locations (they are just as obsessed as I am). Miss you already, my dear J and C, and hope you have a safe journey back.

It was also wonderful to meet new people...chance encounters, because of this blog. A warm hello to Barbara and her lovely friend, and to charmant Jérémie. So nice to have met you!

Inspired by the combination of greys and browns in the garden of the Palais Royal, I teamed my new grey sweater (which I found last Sunday at the local market, for 10 EUR) with grey corduroy jeans, and chocolate 'Brides de Gala' 90 dip dye carré

Capsule pieces: grey corduroy trousers and sweater
Shoes: grey patent flats
Accessories: Hermès 'Brides de Gala' 90 dip dye carré, 'Quadrige' enamel bracelet and 32 Kelly in ebene

It has been lovely and mild since my return, but when it gets colder,  I'd replace the grey patent flats with dark brown ankle boots. For outdoors, I'd wind the scarf once around the neck before securing the ends, and add a dark brown jacket or coat.

PS. No new window displays at FSH... the Christmas windows were not installed yet (the corner window was still the same as last time), and those along the Rue Faubourg Saint-Honoré and the Rue Boissy- d'Anglas were already curtained off for the redecoration.

Have a fabulous weekend everyone xx

  8. Welcome back MaiTai!

Thank you so much for the safe delivery of another fur collar, the taupe colour is gorgeous and it's serendipity that it matches some of the hues in my neutral Carre en Carre perfectly and with some boots of mine :)
Ironically, the moment it arrived the weather here in Dorset turned mild so I will have to be patient to wear it. There are also three lucky family members too who will open a small MaiTai Collection box at Christmas - can't say more, they read this!!

    Fondest wishes, Marina

  17. I agree wholeheartedly with my wonderful friend and Paris iPhone Metro app operator par excellence, Pauillac. It was like traveling with Lady Gaga!

Even one of the SA's at Hermès/Sevres nearly fell all over himself when MaiTai walked in the door. (I can recognize stuttering in French, after all.) He could hardly believe that the scarf goddess herself was standing right in front of him.

Traveling with a celebrity definitely has it's advantages, and we got great service, because SHE was with us. When a desired scarf was not available (as they were holding the last one for the goddess herself), we were told, "Madame, we will have another one here for you on Thursday," and, indeed, they did.

And, when the celebrity in question is as lovely, elegant and charming, as MT, Paris was even more fun and more beautiful than I could have ever hoped for.

Merci beaucoup, dearest - a thousand of them.

I'm counting the days until next November.

    J.
