One of my favorite early summer joys are fresh melons.. ripened by the sun and full of sweetness, aroma and flavor.
Fields can be found everywhere..
where the ripe ones get picked every morning...
and delivered straight away to the vegetable stalls.
Choosing the right one is great fun and a fresh melon for breakfast is a wonderful way to start the day. Melon and Parma ham is one of my favorite starters on warm summer evenings, the fresh sweetness and aroma of the fruit goes perfectly with the mild and savoury flavour of the ham, which I prefer wafer thin and loosely placed on top of the sliced melon. A wonderful entrée dish to share with a group of friends over some iced rosé.
