Chasse au trésor / Chasse en Inde

It's been a busy day today with 14 kids coming to my house to celebrate DS's 9th birthday. We had a treasure hunt in the afternoon and the closest scarf I had to match the occasion of the 'Chasse au trésor' was my Chasse en Inde Cotton Charm Carré.

Since the motto was 'Treasure hunt' I made a chocolate
cake in the shape of a treasure chest, decorated with chocolate
gold coins and jewel shaped sweeties.

Home made treats were not called for today..

It's been a fabulous day, DS went to bed being a very happy boy
and all kids had a wonderful time.

  2. Thank you Shirley! Lucky too it was a cotton scarf, it turned out to be a really hot day. It was the first time ever the children had a swim in the pool at this time of the year!

  6. I love that scarf! Our local boutiques get so few of the cotton charms and they sell out quickly.

But oh my, that CAKE!!! You are quite talented. I'll bet the kids loved it!

  7. Thank you DejaPseu! I agree, it is lucky to score a Cotton Charm. The cake is much simpler to make than it looks, it's basically two sponges baked in loaf tins, then shaped with a sharp knife and covered with icing. Decorate with sweeties, place one on top of the other and place more sweets into the middle and all around. :-)

  10. Dear MaiTai,
I love your blog which I discovered via the purse forum! I have just acquired my first Hermes bag-- a lovely 30 cm bleu de prusse birkin. Now that I have seen your blog, you have inspired me to start collecting scarves! Many years ago, my father gave me a Paperoles one and I never wore it because perhaps I was too young and it wasn't really my style. It's still in the box and everything! Now, I really want to go and get a scarf ring and try out all of the fabulous ways to tie it like you have shown on your blog! Which scarf ring would you suggest for a newbie? I would have PMed you, but I cannot on the purse forum or change my avatar either-- no idea why!

  11. Hello Nenitaviolin and welcome to my blog! Many congratulations on your first H bag, a Bleu de Prusse Birkin sounds divine. To have a Paperol waiting to be loved is just so lucky! Similar to you, I have been given an H scarf when I was very young and boy was I happy to 'discover' it many many years later. It is one of my favorite scarves now. For a scarf ring I'd recommend the Regate, which is the one I use most. Your father will be so thrilled to see you wearing the scarf he gave you all that time ago. Have fun with your scarf and good luck!

Thank you for the lovely compliment and please feel free to contact me anytime on this blog. I think you have to have a minimum of 500 posts on tpf to have access to the messaging system. Take care. :-)

  19. Hi MaiTai, I received the package two weeks ago. Thanks. Chasse en Inde is such a favourite among many. I noticed that it looks very similar to Pique Fleuri de Provence. In fact, Chasse en Inde is simpler with two thick borders while Pique Fleuri de Provence has 3 thick borders + centre square. What do you think of them (if you could only pick one)? Thanks very much.
