  3. Bottega Veneta wouldn't get upset about the woven leather bag? But it goes so well with the Hermes enamel bracelet!

  4. Dearest MaiTai,
I couldn't agree more with dear Trudye. There certainly are 'a couple of items to add to the timeshare' :-)
For me: the beautiful leather jacket, a couple of bracelets and some handbags. So hard to choose...

  6. Thank you Mai Tai for showing us such wonderful works of art and craftmanship!
I know I will never own any such items, but that doesn't matter, just being able to see them is enough.
I truly hope that there will always be people who can afford to buy such beautiful products, and in doing so, master craftspeople will be able to continue their trade and hand down their skills to future generations.

    1. You’ve said it beautifully, dear Linda, and I hope the same as you. I also hope Hermès will remain in control over their business, as opposed to be swallowed up by a luxury goods group one day..

  7. Beautiful pictures. You have such a good eye for putting colours together.

I was wondering if you're planning on adding the faux fur collars to the store again for this autumn/winter season.

  8. Today I was drinking coffee with my husband, across the shop with a red bag in the window. Without my glasses, the bag was blurry and I started thinking what if I lived in Paris and that shop was H...oh, I became truly happy I do not, as I would sleep under the bridge, homeless, surrounded with my H items and MT scarf rings :).

Why do I have the feeling all the time you brought something more from Paris, but we have not seen it yet? Maybe I am just obsessed...

    Love, Lea

    1. Oh what a happy vision you've had! And yes, living near FSH could be quite dangerous... that bridge would become a popular spot! I only brought the Twilly back though, so for the moment not camping at the Pont du H ;-)

  10. Question: In the closeup picture of the gray alligator jacket, there is a farandole 'something' there, is it a necklace or a bracelet or a handbag chain handle? It looks thicker/wider than a necklace or a bracelet.

    1. You are right, the bag’s shoulder strap is a thick, farandole type chain :-)

  12. Dear MaiTai--
Your scarves always look so beautifully crease- and wrinkle-free. What is your secret? How do you store them and do you ever press them to smooth out the creases? Apologies if this topic has already been addressed somewhere in your blog--I'm a new subscriber :-)

    1. A warm welcome to my blog, dear Penny!

Re your question, I mostly use scarf rings instead of making knots... it reduces creasing enormously. After wearing, I leave them hanging over the back of a chair overnight (having folded them back into their original folds). If all fails, I give them a quick handwash in cool water, and iron on a cool setting (always make sure not to iron over the hand-rolled hems).

Re storage, please see this link: How to store scarves

Another storage option is the scarf travel pochette from my collection, I've had many readers emailing me saying how much they love it for storage too: Scarf travel pochette
