  1. It's so beautiful and otherworldly. I like how the light blue handbags, normally one thinks of that blue as a spring color, Easter color - but here it is a soft, icy winter blue. Who knows when I will ever get to Paris, so I thank you, dear MT, for bringing the FSH windows to us!

    1. "Otherworldly" describes it beautifully, dear Fifi! The Rue Faubourg Saint-Honoré is such a busy street, and it is almost surreal to see this magical oasis in the midst of it...

  11. This is gorgeous. Are those cacti and succulents real? Surely this would damage the leather goods.

    1. The decoration is a mix of real and faux...I’m sure everything has been arranged very carefully to avoid any damage. The windows must be expensive enough as it is ;-)

    2. I hope it's OK to post this, it pertains to Nancy's question. There is a series of short videos "Inside Hermes Petit H" where scraps of leather, fabrics, buttons, just anything, are used to create the most marvelous things for the Hermes window and store displays. If you want to see, they are at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZVBC2XrAPw.
      Ciao everybody!

    3. Many thanks for the link, dear Fifi. These little videos are sweet gems! The Petit H objects are not made for windows or store displays though...they are ‘up-cycled’ individual designs which go on travel sale exhibitions to H stores worldwide, and have a permanent home in the Rue de Sèvres store.

  13. After seeing this truly surreal beauty, my question to myself would be - oh, oh, how much work was invested in arranging it?
Tried to analyze the photo for a short while and imagine that creative process - besides the creativity, still many work, including coordinating, supervising, etc. is needed...congrats to H for all such arrangements, it are truly works of art...as much as their items inside the shop.

  16. Dearest MaiTai,

What a treat for the senses to stop by here and take a trip to FSH shop windows. Thank you MaiTai!!!

Truly, your photos are as expertly taken as the windows are expertly arranged; I feel as if I were right there, beholding the sights myself. (esp. luv how you focused-in on the Cadenas, w/ all else in the b/g. Those bags are like pastel jewels.)

Ya know MaiTai...every day on this blog is like a big birthday party to me, because you always have a big treat for us to behold. So, happy blog day 6th year to you, dearie!

    Cheers,
    sammie

  17. With yet another severe winter storm poised to slam into beleaguered Atlanta tomorrow, only to be followed by an ice storm on Wednesday that promises to deprive us of light and heat, your photographs of the almost other-worldly corner windows are a welcome treat and a reminder that spring will come again - well, maybe some day.

But until it does, do you think H. would allow me to curl up in that window? Gosh, I'd even be willing to wear a giant iguana suit so as to "blend in"! And, I would promise not to maul the croc bags - well, not too much.

Thank you so much for all the time and skill it took to get such wonderful shots. I know it's not easy to capture all that luscious beauty through all that glass.
