Reader's style challenge and FSH inspiration - part two

Continuing Cynthia's style challenge with more inspiration from FSH and Paris snaps...

For anyone who, like Cynthia, doesn't feel like wearing head to toe black so early in the fall season, warm coloured accessories are perfect to soften the look. If you pick autumn foliage tones for your bags, scarves and jewellery, your outfit is in perfect harmony with the season, too!

Kachinas Maxi Twilly

Capsule pieces: black tunic blouse and pants.
Accessories: Kachina's Maxi Twilly and Kelly Dog matte croc bracelet in black.
Kelly 32 in ebene (day) and Kelly Pochette in black shiny croc (night)
Shoes: suede ballet flats or patent leather pumps

Parisian courtyards are often 'bijou size', but the attention to detail has turned some of  them into real little gems. This one in the Marais quarter reminded me very much of the colors in the FSH windows!

Mousseline scarves are not just great for summer... because of their light and elegant texture they are perfect year round evening scarves as well. Wearing 'Fantaisies Indiennes' in an asymmetrical wrap.

Teaming a dark coloured wardrobe basis with warm-toned accessories has always been an autumn favorite of mine.. here's a throwback to 2014 with a 'Carré en Carré' 90 scarf tied in a criss-cross bow knot.

And here's the reason I've been a little behind with emails and comments recently...say hello to Wiener!

The De Gournay window below is another image resonating FSH colors... I took this snap on a stroll through Saint Germain in the Rue Saints-Pères. De Gournay is famous for its stunningly beautiful hand-painted wallpapers (click here), and is located right opposite the Galeries Ducha, where you find the fabulous restored French paper board games featured in the previous blog post.

The colors of the De Gournay window reminded me so much of this picture from 2014.. wearing the same scarf as above.

And here's little Wiener in his favourite place! Again wearing the "Carré en Carré' 90 scarf, this time in a rectangular pleated knot.

As you can imagine, I can't resist taking pictures of little Wiener. Of course he'll take part in the posts occasionally, but since this blog is not about dachshunds, his photos will be mainly on his own Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/milo.the.wiener/

Have a great rest of the week and a wonderful remaining autumn everyone.

  2. Beautiful, but of course, my favorite is Milo. Now, if Milo was a cat, he'd be perfect!

I would like a bag the color of his pelt, though. It's such a lovely rich golden brown. He's just too cute for words. (I hope he didn't shred your jeans, though:)

Hugs to you and the sweet little guy,

    1. I agree--Milo is my fave! I especially like how he fits in with all the autumnal colors! What a great new accessory. I adore the photo MaiTai shared of the 'bijou" Parisian courtyard--what a darling find! I'd never leave it.

    2. I know, Greta, isn't that a charming little thing. I wouldn't want to leave either. It probably wouldn't fare well in our heat, though, and now . . . our drought!

  8. Dear,
I have not written the comment here due to a very sad thing that happened in my life. Now, in the middle of the sleepless night, I wanted to say hello to Milo and say how much I appreciate your new family member. Namely, during my difficult of period of life, I have learnt so much about and from the dogs. They are unconditional friends, have sixth sense, they will love you whether behaving good and bad (I do not suspect you will be the best possible Milo's friend) and they have been huge comfort to me. I wish you best of luck and happy days with Milo. So glad for your nice friend.
    Hugs, L.

I hope that rays of light will come and shine in the darkness, each day a little bit more until you find joy and happiness again. Biggest hugs.

  19. A very warm welcome to the swan lake, dearest Milo! We are very happy to embrace such a beautiful creature that is dressed according to seasonal colours. But beware, there are some rules you should be following: never, never chew on your new mom's (and our) shoes and handbags (yes, Hermès leathers are the softest you can imagine, and very, very tempting...) and although these scarves smell like your mom, you can't cuddle with them and drag them around. Sorry! Also for that very soft grey blanket...that's already been shared between some of the swans, but we'll see to it that there is a little corner left for you. Oh, and last but not least, you may follow us (say, on IG), but please do not hunt us. Our feathers are very precious and dear to us. That being said, we can't wait to see new accessories pop up in the store (a dog-proof handbag insert maybe? or a french linen dog blanket?) - I'm sure your mom will work something out for you! Congratulations, you picked a great family to live with.
    Furry greetings,
    Katja

    1. Katja, you are so witty! What a perfect way to welcome Little Milo to our pond!

    2. Excellent advice, Milo. Are you listening? No chewing and no chasing, okay? As Katja says, we are very particular about our feathers . . . and our accessories. And most of us don't like to run either! Your little legs might be a bit stubby, but I bet you're faster than greased lightning.

If you're good, we'll try and find you a little Hermès collar, so you can be an official Swan.

Give your lovely mother a kiss from us - not a sloppy one, though, mind you! No dog spit on the H. scarves, please.

      Puppy hugs,
      Jerrine

    5. Oh dearest Katja, you made me laugh! Your advice is priceless, and I made sure to read it all out to Milo (twice in fact). He's slightly disappointed about the shoes and bags being off limit, but he's happily giving up his corner of the blanket. Soon you'll see why ;)

  25. Dear me, milo is the cutest pup ever! our mini schnauzer is going on 12 years old and is a great comfort to us as empty nesters funny, he only had one chewing episode on only one pair of inexpensive leather shoes, though they were my favorite at the time, and DDs beautiful metronome cover which she unfortunately had left on a low stool within his reach. It must have been his teething stage at four to five months old. Enjoy your previous pup dear and many beautiful walks with him in the days ahead! Xo

    1. What a good little puppy your mini schnauzer has been, dearest Lanit! Not sure if Milo would behave the same way without supervision! We are not empty nesters yet, but now that DS is sixteen he's more interested in his friends than anything else. Little Milo certainly fills a gap! Happy walks and happy autumn to you too xx
