Merry Merry!

Today's post is short and sweet, as I am still not finished with preparations and have a lot on my to-do list left. But at least it comes with a new knot as a little holiday gift (you can find the video tutorial at the bottom of this post).

The Ondulation will be added to the Scarf Art app in the next update (around Dec 29) and includes an in-depth blog post with tips and variations in addition to the interactive video tutorial.

Hope you enjoy the new knot and wishing everyone a merry and happy Christmas and holiday season!

The wrapping theme this year consists of snow-white paper with raspberry, silver, and gold-colored ribbons and decorations.

A glimpse into the app... for each knot you get an illustration that shows you which part of the scarf is highlighted. For the Ondulation, the main focus is on three triangles along the scarf's border. The corner of the opposite side gets worked into the pleated section around your neck. Most of the center design and the upper part gets hidden behind your neck or in the surrounding folds:

You can also explore variations for each knot which include instructions on how to achieve them (here with a Hermes Carré Kantha 90 silk twill scarf)

Hope you have a wonderful end of the year, and I am looking forward to seeing you in the New Year.

2020 has been challenging for most, so here's to a better and brighter 2021 filled with joy, happiness, and good health 🥂

  1. Dearest Tai and All Swans,

Merry, merry, indeed! We have beauty, joy and this little community of passionate H lovers to bring us strength and energy to carry on into 2021. Thank you, MaiTai for this glimpse into your world and your special MT holiday touches. As always, very inspiring and motivating :-) I made a Christmas pudding according to your recipe and will raise a glass of bubbly to thank you and wish you and your family a very lovely Christmas and a healthy, jouful and prosperous New Year! I am looking forward to more knots on the Scarf App, more posts on the blog and the return of safe travel.....

    With kindest regards,

    1. Dearest Aneta, - hope you had a beautiful and merry Christmas and that the pudding was a success! Raising my glass to wish you a happy and joyous New Year, and hope it will be brighter than the one we (are glad to) leave behind. Fingers crossed for the return of normality, or something resembling it. In the meantime, we have our scarves to cheer us up a little. A new knot was just uploaded to the app, hope you enjoy it!
      Warmest regards

    2. Oh, Maitai! Happy happy 2021! Your pudding recipe and detailed instructions were amazing and the end product tasted like Christmas :-) I might have erred on the side of more brandy and it definitely did not hurt, the fruits were soft and boozy.
On the scarf front - just placed an order on H.com for the orange Zambeze re-issue. Fingers crossed it is going to work for me.
No boutique visits in Toronto for now, and the online selection is not great, but I was just so itching for a new silk I decided to order it unseen. With your knotting wizardry I am sure I will have fun trying different folds and knots.

Again, may this New Year be a very happy one.

      with kind regards,

      Aneta

    3. My dearest Aneta, - so happy the Christmas pudding was a success, thanks so much for letting me know! More brandy is definitely better than less, I agree.
Like you, I haven't been to a H store for ages and I am too contemplating the Zambeze re-issue. Particularly since I lost mine, and it was one of my favorites. How is the orange CW in person?
Hope you had a good start into 2021, it can only be a better year than the one we left behind!
