Capsule wardrobe #110 - Autumn mist

This morning a most stunning autumn scene unfolded when I looked out of the window,

and knew immediately which scarf to wear today!
Some of the capsule wardrobe pieces that came to mind..

Capsule wardrobe pieces: jeans and black sweater
Accessories: Hermès 'La femme aux semelles de vent' 90 carré, andChaîne d'ancre' printed enamel bangle.

Shoe options (I went with the ankle boots)

A more classique variation ~

Capsule wardrobe pieces: grey trousers, white shirt and black blazer
Accessories: Hermès 'La femme aux semelles de vent' 90 carré, and a marron glacé clic-H bracelet

Alternative accessory and scarf options

In a further variation, wearing the scarf in a waterfall knot

  2. Looking fabulous as always! Honored that I could inspire a look for you. I love doing my scarf that way--it does not get any easier or faster. I have coveted those Repetto's since you first introduced them.

  3. Oh dear Mai Tai
Once more, you are so elegant in these black and white colours with a touch of grey. I also like very much the Repetto and as I only wear flat shoes or boots like yours not more heels we can find a large choice at Repetto. I saw also ballerines with this style at Hermes. I was astonished because not too classic and not too expensive! But it was in summer.

  4. Thanks MT, useful to start thinking about warmer layers, but still surprisingly mild here in UK. Half-term hols at the moment, so we are all enjoying the wonderful autumn countryside. Great ankle boots! Enjoy your break. s

  11. Dear Mai Tai, The capsule pieces are a lovely selection and the white shirt featured in your photographs is the exact style I am after...however, I am having trouble finding a really good quality, well fitted white shirt. I wonder if you could recommend any particular brands of shirts? Many thanks in advance! Kindest Regards, Jo.

    1. Hello dear Jo, The shirt is by Anne Fontaine. Mine are part jersey part cotton, which makes them very comfortable and easy to wear :-)

  12. The photo reminded me of the mornings on the hill where I was born...very emotional for me.
The outfits are so elegant and inspiring. You gave me an inspiration to take my accessories out of the boxes and start criss-crossing tonight. Your elegance is a sort of mystery - so chic, so simple and so "natural". Have a nice weekend.

  13. Where we live, we often have fog in the early morning. I find it calming and quite soothing so much that it's my favorite time of the day to take my daily walk.
Love the La Femme aux Semelles de Vent. It's one of my favorites. Like Barbara A, I'm a huge fan of black / gray.

    Warm orange hugs, dear.

    1. The early morning fogs are so mysterious, I love them too. We usually only get them in autumn and winter, and not that often.. it is always a special treat! Hugs right back PS. Hope you were lucky with the Maxi Twilly x

    2. Back home now, dearest MaiTai, without a Maxi Twilly. The hunt is still on to score the increasingly difficult to find Maxi T. However, I did not come home without an orange box. Promenades de Paris in cw 03 came home as well. :-) I love the buildings and the beautiful gray border. xx

  14. Which shoes do you prefer to wear with wide leg trousers (the gray one in your photo)? Do you think flats are better or do yo like a bit of heels?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. With the wide leg trousers I like the ankle boots or RVs from the above selection best, but find that sneakers or masculine flats work really well with them too.

    2. Thanks for the great idea! I agree, I think masculine flats work well with them too!
