Easter ~ part two

Today I took my easter eggs out of their storage box.. one has to be really careful, they are so delicate! All of these are hand-painted and most of them come from Germany. I would love to add a Czech one to my collection one day!

Easter ~ part one

Spring is in the air and Easter is approaching.. time to get the decoration going!

In the same way as making a big wreath out of vine clippings, I made tiny little ones. For these, the clippings have to be much thinner and more pliable. Trimmings from wall climbing vines are ideal.

Here a mini wreath dressed up with olive twigs..

.. and another one decorated with a simple little ribbon.

Some wildflowers I picked on a walk with DS,

and one of my cherished Easter egg-cups.

This year's first Easter items!

Skiing ~ Haute Savoie

This year we went skiing in the Haute Savoie part of the French alps. We had a week full of sunshine, blue skies and fabulous snow.. it was blissful.

DAY ONE
Early morning view from our balcony

Over night beautiful icicles form. By midday they are all melted away..

A stroll through the village..

..where we bought some local delicacies to take back home

DAY TWO

Getting ready for the slopes..

.. wearing my Ex-libris Cashmere GM

DAY FOUR
After a long morning's skiing we were heading towards one of my favorite cafés for lunch.

love the decoration..

the stag's head is not real, it's just a cuddly toy!

wearing Quadrige

Who can resist a glass of 'vin chaud'?

it was exactly the right thing to have and was followed by a well deserved lunch.

DAY SIX
The snow was fantastic, and after a few good runs it was time to head to a café for a little break..

this one has spectacular views ...

one can watch the bubble lift going up to the Glacier..

.. relax in a deck chair (wearing La danse du cheval Marvari)

and marvel at the panoramic view of the Mont Blanc

DAY EIGHT
Time to say good-bye. We had such a wonderful time.

The Magic Scarf

The Carré en Carrés is a truly amazing scarf, as it is a composite of 5 scarves: Couvertures et Tenues du Jour, Tigre Royal, Brides de Gala, H Cinétique and Pani La Shar Pawnee. I call it my Magic Scarf..

Couvertures et Tenues du Jour (orig. design Jaques Eudel in 1960)

Tigre Royal (orig. design Christiane Vauzelles in 1966)

Brides de Gala (orig. design Hugo Grygkar in 1957)

H Cinétique (orig. design Bali Barett in 2004)

Pani La Shar Pawnee (orig. design Kermit Oliver in 2004)

I think the Couverture is the most casual one, so I get a lot of use out of it. I love the elegance of the Brides and it's wonderful to have a splice of it. The Pani La Shar Pawnee is a surprise. I thought the colors would not work for me, but I find them spot on. The fil de l'Inde is a great splash of color, which is just right if the mood hits. The Tigre is a design which ina 90 is not me, but it's fun to have it and I like it more and more.

I love my Carré en Carrés.
