Skiing

For the last two years we haven't been very lucky with our skiing holiday weather, and spent most of the time with books by the fire while snowstorms were raging outside. This year however the conditions could not have been more perfect.. it snowed the week before we went, and then the sun made a comeback just as we arrived. The blue skies lasted our entire stay and the temperatures were so mild that it could have been the end of March. It was our best skiing holiday ever!

The wonderful weather allowed for lighter ski gear, and on most days a small Gavroche/Pocket Square scarf was just the perfect amount of silk to keep the neck warm and protected.

Vif Argent, tied in a half cowboy knot and tucked into a turtle neck collar.

Bonjour Monsieur!

Another day, another scarf.... Brazil II Gavroche

'On aime les bulles' - my motto, too!

Watching the paragliders over lunch the previous day gave DS an idea..

getting ready

No turning back now... allez-go!

Can you spot the orange sail?

Last day.. wearing my absolute favorite winter scarf, the 'Les Plaisiers du Froid'. It's been on every skiing holiday since my dearest friend Jerrine gave it to me (I never received a scarf in such beautiful condition.. more on Jerrine's scarf magic coming soon)

Au revoir, until next year!

Winter holidays

Skiing holidays are always unpredictable... the weather can be anything from mild and sunny to icy temperatures and raging snowstorms, so packing covers a range of clothes, as well as books and games for entertainment, just in case. This year we were snowed in for most of the time, with the exception of just two mornings, when the storm clouds suddenly cleared to reveal the brightest and most beautiful blue sky. The snowfalls during the night before had covered the pistes with fresh and powdery snow, which made those two mornings truly exceptional, and the trip more than worth it in the end.

Much of our time was dedicated to après-ski, or should I say après-read... Drinks and chocolats chauds after long mornings or even whole days spent by the fire reading a book/having fun on Instagram.

Ready for the piste, wearing my Zebra Pegasus 90 carré tied in a Cowboy knot

Of course, DS didn't mind the weather and was ready to replenish burnt-off calories at any time

It was wonderful to come back home to blue skies, almond blossoms and mild temperatures. Some daring trees even started to give their new foliage a peek into the outside world..

Wearing my Brides de Gala Dip Dye, in reminiscence of DS's hot chocolate..

Capsule wardrobe pieces: ecru top, light beige cardigan and blue jeans/checked wool trousers
Accessories: Hermes 'Brides de Gala' Dip Dye 90 carré,  Kelly Double Tour bracelet in ebene with GHW and a Kelly 32 in Ebene.
Shoes: suede ankle boots/beige patent pumps (25 Belle Viviers)

For a casual alternative, replacing the checked trousers with jeans

Have a cosy remaining winter and a great upcoming spring everyone xx

Skiing

This Year's skiing holiday has been a little bit volatile... during the first days, snow storms were raging outside, while we stayed inside, recovering from stomach flu.

Once we started to feel better,

the skies cleared up too, and we had some fantastic skiing.

This year I bought my first a helmet. A few years ago, hardly anyone was wearing them apart from the kids, but each year more and more people do. I love the attached visor on this one, and as a wonderful benefit, it keeps the head warm and protected from icy February winds.

Mont Blanc

With 'helmet hair' (actually, there is hardly any difference from my usual hair... it is so flat that it qualifies as helmet hair for most of the year!) and my beautiful 'Les Plaisir du Froid' 90 Carré in a close to the neck cowboy knot.

This post comes so much later than I intended it to. Keeping up with orders, administration, organisation, requests and projects, and running everything smoothly (including my home), seems to take up more and more time, and always more than the days have. I am so incredibly sorry the blog has suffered a little bit lately as a result, and I miss participating in the fun of Le Salon. I hope you ladies keep the party going for the time being. I am working on improving my systems and hope it will result in saving time in the long run. In the meantime, I'll post as much and as frequently as I can, and wishing you all a wonderful start into spring xx
