A quick and easy 'how-to' for the look in yesterday's post.
Start by sliding the Mors ring halfway up the Twilly, fold the Twilly back to itself and place around your neck.

How to make an olive wreath
Today our olive trees had their beauty trim before summer. The twigs came to a good amount and I remembered still having a good sized spare wreath base. Ideal circumstances to make an olive wreath! I love wreaths, they are easy to make from whatever nature gives and make such pretty decorations. Wearing my De Passage à Tokyo Twilly and Mors scarf ring (for a how-to click here).

The ingredients ~ vine clippings and olive twigs.

The wreath base is made by bending the vine clippings, click here for instructions.

Not having to make the base I started off by selecting as straight and long olive twigs as possible..
gathered them into little bunches..

and tied them with a fine metal thread onto the wreath base

Work in progress

and ~ voilà! with 35 Birkin for size reference

I thought this one would make a wonderful wall hanging and it looks as if I have found the perfect spot for it!

OP'H Vintage Carré as belt/sash
This Friday's theme on scarf threads and boards is 'Orange'. The OP'H Vintage Carré is the closest I have in my drawer. I love matching this scarf with white, so today wearing a pair of linen trousers and a contrasting blue jersey shirt.

H it Up!
• OP'H Vintage Carré worn as sash
• Farandole necklace
• Lima and Toquade silver rings
• Bracelet non H
A simple variation, showing the reverse side and a different aspect of the scarf's design.
Edited to add (as per request in the comment section) the view from behind:
a) ends secured with a double knot

b) ends secured with two scarf rings in the basic slide (petite size for the 70 carré shown)

Lock look
The locks of my Birkin and Kelly bags practically never see the daylight, as I mostly carry my bags without. Today I took them out of my drawer to marvel at their beauty.. then it hit me, would they not make excellent small scarf rings? I found out they are ideal for Gavroches, which is especially good news as Gavroche rings are so hard to come by. Here goes with my Ex-libris.

Clinging onto black
I love wearing black and brown, and wearing both together is one of my favorite color combinations. The days are numbered, soon it will be too hot and summery to wear them (at least in a combo). Today started off cloudy, so I grabbed the opportunity to wear the darks. Black jeans, sweater and coat, dark brown boots, Evelyne gloves, Lena horn necklace and Ebene Kelly.

A cloudy day on the beach
This weekend we went for a family day to the beach, had a picnic, build a sandcastle and went for a walk. It was not a sunny day, but we enjoyed the drama of the changing weather...we had mostly dark clouds, with the occasional sharp ray of sunlight, but every now and then a little bit of blue sky came through...

'How to' for a Plissé flower knot
This is my favorite way to wear a Plissé. It's such an amazing look and yet it takes less than 20 seconds to achieve.

I hope this 'how to' video works, it's the first time I am posting one.
I used my Projet Carré Plissé and Regate scarf ring, but any other similar shaped scarf ring would do.
Voilà!

The knot turns out differently every time and it's fun to discover the different shaped flowers it produces:

For a bigger 'flower' follow the same instructions, but leave out the simple knot at the beginning:

Coupons Indiens Gavroche
Today wearing a Gavroche. Folding it into a triangle and securing it with a small double knot behind the neck gives this little silk square a lot of mileage.
H it Up!
• Coupons Indiens Gavroche
• Muse belt buckle & gris tourterelle belt strap
• Lift horn pendant
• Picotin

The design of the Coupons Indiens is wonderfully varied, even the smallest adjustment of the folds brings out different colors and aspects of the pattern... it is several Gavroches in one!

Today wearing ~ Twilly and Lift earrings
Today's weather could not have been more different from yesterday's. The sky is blue, it's sunny and warm. Decided to pair the accessories from yesterday's black outfit with a spring colored wardrobe. I'm amazed at how well the Twilly and earrings work with both looks!

H it Up ~ Lift earings and Twilly
April weather! One day it's summer and on the next one it's back to winter again.. Today started off gloomily. Feeling lazy, I've put on one of my trusted uniforms.. a pair of black jeans and a little black sweater. Very easy, but also a bit triste. Definitely a case for..
H-it Up!
• Lift earrings
• Bolduc au Carré Twilly

I am always amazed at the huge difference small things can make... the Twilly and the earings have certainly put some 'spring' back into my step!

Happy Easter!
For a simple yet effective Easter decoration, I've used the wreath I made a few weeks ago. After adding a few more vine clippings to thicken it, I've suspended it with simple chains from the ceiling and decorated it with some ribboned mini-wreaths and my cherished hand-painted Easter eggs.
The weather forecast predicted rain for today, so I took these pics a couple of days ago. Since then, I have received an amazing gift from a true Easter fairy.. the most beautiful hand-painted eggs, which are now the crown jewels of my collection. I will post a pic once the sun gets through again. Thank you so much, my dear sweet fairy!
Wishing everyone a joyous and happy Easter weekend!

Skiing ~ Hautes Alpes
The Alps had a lot of snowfall this year and there was still enough left in the Easter holidays to make for fabulous skiing. We went to a resort located in the Hautes Alpes, right on the Italian border. Build in 1907, it is one of the oldest skiing resorts in France.

Getting there was a beautiful drive through the Haute Provence, France's fruit growing area. All the orchards were in blossom, it was such a lovely sight!

On our arrival, we instantly fell in love with the charming Chalet Hotel we stayed in.

the passage upstairs

Our cosy bedroom..

..where we sometimes had our breakfast

the breakfast/lunch restaurant

DS checking on the progress in the kitchen

The skiing domain was fantastic, with plenty of beautiful forest runs.
The pistes criss-cross through Italy and France and to DS's delight we
had most of our lunches on the Italian side.

On the second day, we hired a guide for some off-piste adventures. It was absolutely magical - we swooshed through powdery snow for miles on end and enjoyed breathtaking panoramic views without seeing another soul.

DS, of course, loves nothing better than to jump and race

Coming back in the afternoons, we would settle down by one of the fire places in the lounge area, drink a cup of coffee and play games with DS

Guess who had all the cookies?

Later on, we'd get ready to go to the evening restaurant,
where we had the most delicious family dinners.

It was a wonderful trip!
