Summer!

We're already on our way to our summer holiday, but didn't want to leave before wishing everyone a happy and beautiful summer. Hope you enjoy the images I've gathered over the last couple of weeks, mixed with some previous warm weather scarf knot ideas.

La Fontaine de la Rotonde in Aix-en-Provence

When the weather becomes too hot to wear scarves around the neck, a scarf belt is always a great alternative (Here with a 'La Marche de Zambèze' 90 scarf). Other accessories: Hermes Picotin 18 in Bleu Sapphire.

The Collier knot is a fabulous way to wear your scarf 'around the neck' when the temperatures reach summer highs.. the scarf rests on your clothing and barely touches your skin

On a hot summer's day, what could be better than a Pierre Hermé Ispahan macaron? A Pierre Hermé Ispahan sorbet, of course!

Love wearing black in summer too, and sunflower yellow gives it a bright and sunny touch. The Drape knot is another great option for warm weather (pic from a few years back)

Same combination, but with a fresh extra touch in the form of my new Origami bag charm from LuxeLeatherCrafts

Good-bye atelier window.. I won't be looking out of you for a while!

Wishing everyone the most beautiful, safe and blissful summer.. and looking forward to seeing you again in mid-August.

Capsule wardrobe #108 - autumn playtime

Summer is reluctant to leave the South of France, and the days are still beautiful and warm.. too warm for my autumn wardrobe additions though! Instead of wearing them, I am playing in my wardrobe.. and planning outfits for the cooler days to come.

Aix-en-Provence, Place des Prêcheurs

Capsule pieces: wool skirt in mustard and black sweater
Shoes: tri-color patent leather pumps
Accessories: Hermès 'Carré en Carré' 90 Carré (folded into the Brides de Gala section)
'Grand Apparat' enamel bracelet and 35 Birkin in black

Photo Finish

By now, I have seen most scarves from this spring/summer collection and having been torn between a couple of CWs of my favourite (Photo Finish by Dimitri Rybaltchenko), I finally decided on the fresh and light Etoupe/Vert/Marron.

My choice might have been influenced by the beautiful pastel-coloured façades in Aix-en-Provence, that I walked past before making the purchase ;-)

Lunch in Aix-en-Provence ~ Brasserie Les Deux Garçons

Yesterday we went 'en famille' to Aix-en-Provence, mainly to get jeans for DS, as Aix is our nearest place that has a Gap kids store. No visit to Aix would be complete though without a lunch in our favorite brasserie, 'Les Deux Garçons'. It is a place rich in history, beautiful in decor and with delicious, yet simple food and has been an 'Aixoise institution' since the beginning of the 19th Century.

Although the weather was sunny and the sky deep blue, there was an icy wind blowing at the same time, and it was definitely too cold to sit outside. The decor of the inviting interior dining is from the epoque consulaire (early 19th-century) and is listed as a 'monument historique'. The gilded and olive-painted salon with it's beautiful mirrors, neoclassical reliefs, and elegant ceilings is truly a feast for the eyes.

.. nevertheless we were drawn to lunch in the Orangerie, to benefit from the beautiful sunshine, streaming in through the big glass windows

On the way back home we could not resist stopping at Riederer,
which is also located on the Court Mirabeau, just a few meters from the Deux Garçons..

..how I love their beautiful mini pâtisseries!
